Rep. Evans participates in a Peace March with 7th Ward Alderman Mitchell

Rep. Evans marches with 7th Ward Alderman Gregory Mitchell , Members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and 4 District Police District.

Chicago, IL –State Rep. Marcus C. Evans, Jr., D-Chicago joined the march against the constant gun violence in the City of Chicago. Alderman Gregory Mitchell (7th Ward) hosted a peace march through the South Chicago and South Shore neighborhoods along with member of the Omega Psi Phi and the 4th District Chicago Police. Alderman Mitchell organized this encouraging event based on the ongoing concern of Chicago residents and constituents from his ward. Rep. Evans was invited to participate, which has portion of his district that covers areas of the 7th Ward.

“The constant killing and gun violence has to stop. Youth and parents from our communities have suffered enough”. Alderman Mitchell wanted to send a message to his Ward that he cares and is actively involved in ending the gun violence problem.

“The current and continual gun violence has been spiraling out of control in our neighborhoods. Coming together collectively is just one step in the process of overcoming the gun violence”, said Representative Evans.

The city of Chicago have had several peace rally’s and stop the violence marches throughout the month of June and will continue through the summer.
