In Indianapolis at their national conference on Wednesday, August 16 the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) selected Illinois State Representative Marcus C. Evans, Jr. as their next Vice President, who will subsequently become the President-Elect, then President.
Within the Illinois House of Representatives, Rep. Evans serves as Assistant Majority Leader and Chairman of the Labor & Commerce Committee. NCSL is bi-partisan non-political policy focused organization.
Leader Evans has been actively involved in NCSL since 2017, serving on both the State and Local Taxation Taskforce (SALT) and the Executive Committee.
