Rep. Evans named Chairman of Transportation Committee

[Springfield, IL](February 2017)—Rep. Evans (D-Chicago) named Chairman of Transportation: Regulation, Roads and Bridges Committee for the 100th General Assembly.

In the Illinois House of Representatives of the 100th General Assembly Marcus C. Evans Jr. will serve as the Chairman of the Transportation: Regulations, Roads and Bridges Committee. Rep. Marcus C. Evans, Jr. was honored to be selected and named chairperson of this committee.

Within this role Rep. Evans will lead the efforts to create jobs and expand opportunities by pushing for serious investments in our Illinois roads and highways.

“Our streets, roads and bridges are crumbling and if Illinois is serious about attracting businesses and creating jobs we must invest in our infrastructure at every level,” Evans said. “I am excited to take a leading role in building up our state’s infrastructure and making Illinois a place that is more accessible to businesses and motorists.”

Representative Marcus C. Evans, Jr. goal for this new committee is to push legislation that’s focused on creating jobs opportunities and advance our infrastructure.

In addition to being named the chairperson for Transportation: Regulation, Roads and Bridges Committee, Rep. Evans is also chairing of the following subcommittees;

Motor Fuel Analysis Subcommittee
Highways & Transit Subcommittee
Future Roads: Growth & Improvement
