Rep. Marcus Evans Talks Technology with Students from Black Elementary

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Rep. Marcus Evans (D-Chicago) discussed meteorology with fourth grade students from Black Elementary during Tech Day 2012 at the Illinois State Capitol. Their ‘Meteorologist For A Day’ presentation displayed their knowledge of the weather, including their own weather forecast on laptop computers. Students from throughout the state came to show the importance of technology in the classroom.

“Robert A. Black Elementary is teaching our future leaders, and I applaud the hard work that the students put into their presentations today,” Evans said. “Having our students here at the Capitol should remind us that they are our top priority, and that we must have a strong investment in their education.”

Evans currently represents the 33rd District on Chicago’s South Side including parts of Chicago’s 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th Wards.
